Using Cuisenaire Rods

Cuisenaire Rods is a nice tool to use in a classroom with your learners and there are many ways to use it.

Personally, I haven't used Cuisenaire Rods yet, but after I have read about it and watched videos, I believe, that it is a fun way of teaching English. Perhaps, not only English, if you are a teacher of other subjects too.

In terms of teaching the English language, I suppose that a teacher should introduce activities using Cuisenaire Rods to young learners. This helps them to develop their imagination. Students should make association and they should explain why, for instance, yellow is their mother and green - their father.

We can also apply such activities to older teenagers, but perhaps it will be a bit more difficult if they are not familiar with such activities, if they are not used to them.
